Notre Dame Cathedral
The day was full of culture.  We got a chance to visit the Notre Dame Cathedral and Central Post Office in downtown Ho Chi Minh City.  The post office building was a very impressive colonial building that reminded me of Central Post Offices in any European city.  The building was actually built by the French when they ruled over Vietnam about a hundred years ago.

Vietnam History Museum
The stop to the Vietnam History Museum was informative as I got a lot of knowledge about the history and culture of Vietnam.  A surprising element was that the Vietnamese have been fighting against so many countries for the past thousands of years.  The last war with the Americans ended about thirty five years ago.  Before that they fought against Japan, China and the French.

The stop at Reunification Hall gave an insight on Vietnam’s war with America and how that building was utilized as a communication hub by the American soldiers during the war.  We got a chance to go down in the bunkers of that building and saw the old telegraph and other communication devices that the army used during the war.

Pho 200 was our first experience with the local food.  It was interesting to know that President Bill Clinton visited that place and had lunch there as well.
